    Artist: Minori Noto (能登 美登利)

He is a celebrated ceramic artist based in Mashiko, Japan, a town renowned for its pottery heritage. Her work embodies the essence of wabi-sabi, embracing natural textures, organic forms, and the quiet beauty of imperfection. Noto's designs are rooted in tradition yet carry a timeless modernity, blending functionality with artistic expression. Each piece she creates is meticulously handcrafted, reflecting her deep connection to Mashiko’s rich ceramic history and philosophy.

    Caring for new ceramics:
When you buy a new ceramic piece it is a good idea to place it in a bowl of water for around 2 to 3 hours. Pottery has air between the clay particles, which in time can let
in dirt and cause staining. By soaking the piece in water these gaps can be sealed, preventing the dirt from encroaching.
