Keiko Uchida has become widely known for her Tea Ceremony Workshops, allowing you to take part in an elegant tradition, either as one of a small group in the Notting Hill Store, or as a special event (from private parties to large corporate occasions). With her decades of experience practicing the Tea Ceremony, and her status as a Tea Master, Keiko is an exceptional guide to this extraordinary world.

The tea ceremony is a comprehensive art. It means not only drinking a cup of Matcha tea, but is also a spiritual experience. In Japan the tea ceremony was a development of a Zen ritual. Joining one of our Tea Ceremony Workshops, you will be able to learn about the history and philosophy of the ceremony, as well as finding out about the qualities of Matcha tea, and about how to make, serve and drink a cup of Matcha tea in the traditional manner.

The Ceremony can offer wonderful benefits, and be the focus for meditation and health, as well as profound cultural interests, and has also proved rewarding for groups examining motivational ideas. We have had great success in the past with large corporations and cultural festivals as well as teenage birthday parties and single individuals. For each and every person, there has been something to discover and a great deal to enjoy.

We offer our workshops at the London store, or on site (wherever you would like - in homes, hotels, offices, at festivals) and also now on line, as a webinar. This format allows people in many locations to take part, and experience the tea ceremony first-hand - participants are provided with equipment beforehand (such as a bowl, whisk, tea etc), so that they can actually take part in making tea during the event, guided by Keiko herself.
