Collection: Vintage Kokeshi

Kokeshi dolls are traditional handcrafted folk Japanese collectible wooden dolls that originated in the Tōhoku region during the Edo period (1603–1868). They were initially crafted by Kijiya (woodworkers) as simple souvenirs for visitors to hot springs. These dolls have a straightforward design—usually featuring a cylindrical, limbless body and a rounded head. Each doll is unique, with hand-painted faces expressing various emotions, ranging from whimsical smiles to serious looks. All kokeshi are in immaculate original condition and signed by the artist. Great as a collectible vintage item.
