About Keiko Uchida
Born in Tokyo, Keiko Uchida has been steeped in Japanese culture from an early age. Her mother was a renowned kimono specialist and her father developed traditional tea rooms. For decades, she studied Tea Ceremony with Japanese masters before becoming a Tea Master herself.
Keiko is widely regarded as one of Europe’s finest specialists in Japanese tea. Her knowledge comes from a lifetime of experience and from regular journeys to Japan, where she works closely with tea farmers, tea merchants, potters and craftspeople.
She has developed close relationships with people across Japan, giving her a unique understanding of tea, ceramics and the traditions behind them. Her passion is to discover exceptional work and share it with others, while supporting the next generation of Japanese artists, craftspeople and artisans.
Today, Keiko shares this knowledge through her collection of Japanese teas and ceramics, her London store in Notting Hill, and her Tea Ceremony Workshops.
