This charming Cat Cup and Saucer by Yukiko Kitahara exemplifies the artist’s signature blend of delicacy, humour, and thoughtful design. Crafted in pure white porcelain, the piece is part of Kitahara’s “Live with Care” collection—a poetic series that transforms everyday disposable objects into lasting works of art. At first glance, the cup appears to mimic the shape of a disposable plastic vessel, yet it is meticulously hand-formed and surprisingly robust. The smooth, fine texture of the porcelain beautifully highlights the warm tones of tea or coffee, enhancing both the visual and tactile experience. Subtle details, such as the softly modelled cat form integrated into the design, reveal Kitahara’s sensitivity to balance, proportion, and gentle expression.

Working from her studio in Seville, Spain, the Japanese artist creates each piece individually, imbuing it with quiet care and character. The result is a functional yet poetic object that invites reflection on sustainability, fragility, and everyday beauty. Though it looks delicate, the cup is sturdy in use—an elegant reminder to treat simple rituals with attention and grace.

We also offer this delightful design in a dog version, equally refined and full of charm.

Each item is comes with its own box with biodegradable packaging and a certificate of authenticity.
