The Tomoo Hamada Shioyaki Bowl with a hexagonal base is a striking piece of Japanese craftsmanship, combining tradition with modern design. Its unique shape and vibrant blue glaze, achieved through the shioyaki (salt-firing) technique, showcase subtle variations and textures that make each bowl one of a kind. This process, where salt reacts with the clay during firing, creates a semi-matte finish that enhances the natural beauty of the piece.

Perfect for tea ceremonies, the bowl’s bold colour beautifully complements the rich green of matcha, creating a visually harmonious experience. Its elegant yet functional design also makes it a versatile addition to the home, ideal for serving or display. Rooted in the principles of mingei, which values handcrafted art for everyday use, this bowl is a testament to Mashiko’s legacy as a hub for exceptional ceramics.

Available with a Japanese wooden box tied with a traditional ribbon.
