Kaishi Paper

Kaishi is Japanese paper that is used during the tea ceremony for placing sweets on and wiping one's fingers. It is normally carried folded and tucked into the front of one's Kimono. The paper is watermarked with Matsu (pine), Take (bamboo), and Ume (plum) - all Japanese symbols of longevity and good fortune.
