The top grade bamboo chasen, handcrafted by Tango Tanimura in Nara, Japan.

Tango Tanimura is the 20th generation of a chasen master in Takayama, Nara and his family have been continuausly making chasen for over 500 years. This premium chasen are made with all natural materials produced in Japan. This chasen is the "favourite" (Okonomi) of Ura Senke Tea Shool. The best chasen to enjoy ceremonial matcha time.

Our chasen stand is perfect to keep the chasen in good condition.

 

To keep your chasen in the best condition, we recommend you soak the prongs in hot water before each use.

Rinse in hot water after use. You can also wash in soapy water every now and then.

Bamboo is a natural material and can split if it is dried out. Store in a cool place.

Care Information

Before using your chasen, soak your chasen with hot water for few minitues to let bamboo softer and protect the bristles from damage.

After making a cup of matcha, rinse in hot water and let it dry in cool place. We recommend drying the whisk with our chasen stand to keep the shape of chasen well.
