We were pleased to have our resident tea master, Keiko Uchida, featured in Londoner magazine in an article by Halima Abdi exploring the rise of matcha among Gen Z and the importance of authenticity in Japanese tea.
The article highlights Keiko Uchida’s work as a Japanese tea merchant based in Notting Hill, specialising in high-quality Japanese teas and ceramics, with matcha sourced directly from tea makers and farmers in Japan, particularly Kyoto. It also covers the company’s tea ceremonies and workshops, which focus on teaching the correct equipment, techniques, and cultural background behind preparing high-grade matcha.
The feature emphasises Keiko Uchida’s advocacy for properly sourced matcha and the value of building trust between customers and tea producers. It also addresses the growing trend of first-time matcha drinkers discovering the tea through cafés and social media, alongside Keiko Uchida’s encouragement to make matcha at home for a more authentic and affordable experience.
We thank Londoner magazine and Halima Abdi for featuring Keiko Uchida and sharing our commitment to quality and education in Japanese tea.
