Oribe technique is unique for its distinctive green copper glaze with spontaneous brushwork and asymmetrical form – hallmarks of the aesthetic championed by the 16th-century tea master Furuta Oribe. The interplay of rich emerald glaze with earthy, unglazed surfaces evokes a deep connection to nature, and the spirit of traditional Japanese tea culture. 

Kan Matsuzaki is a Japanese ceramic artist renowned for his intricate glaze combinations and meticulous attention to surface detail. He is the son of esteemed potter Ken Matsuzaki, a prominent figure in the Mingei (folk craft) tradition.Matsuzaki’s ceramics are distinguished by their elaborate glaze applications and complex surface compositions, showcasing a contemporary interpretation of classic forms.

Kan Matsuzaki has exhibited his work internationally, including at Ippodo Gallery in New York, where his pieces have been featured in curated exhibitions.
