Online Japanese Tea Ceremony Workshop

Join us for a serene and insightful online Japanese Tea Ceremony Workshop with our resident tea master, Keiko Uchida.

In this live online session, Keiko will guide you through the history, philosophy, and spirit of the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. You will then witness an authentic demonstration using her personal collection of tea ceremony equipment, bringing centuries of tradition to life before your eyes.

Participants are warmly encouraged to take part by preparing their own tea set in advance. You will need:

• Chasen (bamboo whisk)
• Chashaku (tea scoop)
• Chawan (tea bowl)
• Matcha (tea powder)
• A thermos of warm water (80°C) or a kettle with cooled boiled water

Follow along as Keiko prepares a bowl of matcha, guiding you step by step through this mindful ritual.

At the end of the session, there will be a Q&A segment, where Keiko will answer your questions. If you would like to submit questions in advance, please email them to hello@keikouchida.com. 

We kindly ask that all participants keep microphones and cameras switched off during the demonstration to maintain a peaceful atmosphere. You may switch them back on for the Q&A.
