This exceptional gyokuro comes from Yame, the region most revered for producing Japan's finest shaded green teas. Yame gyokuro is celebrated for its deep umami, natural sweetness and velvety body, qualities shaped by a misty climate, mineral-rich soils and generations of skilled craftsmanship.

Produced as a true Hon Gyokuro, the tea bushes are shaded beneath traditional rice straw for several weeks before harvest. This meticulous method increases amino acids, enhances sweetness and umami, and creates an exceptionally smooth, balanced cup.

The infusion is rich and silky, with fresh vegetal notes giving way to elegant layers of seaweed and kombu, followed by a long, clean umami finish.

Meaning "jade dew", gyokuro is Japan's most prestigious loose-leaf green tea. Naturally rich in L-theanine and antioxidants, it offers calm, focused energy alongside remarkable depth of flavour. Keiko Uchida's Yame Gyokuro is a beautiful expression of place, tradition and craftsmanship.
