Crafted from a single piece of bamboo, this whisk is essential for making perfect matcha. Each chasen features its own handle style, number of prongs, and prong shape, each designed for specific purposes. This straight-tip finish offers long-lasting durability—perfect for true matcha lovers!
How to Make Perfect Matcha:
We recommend you use not quite boiling water, around 80°C works well.
If you are using a chashaku (a Japanese bamboo teaspoon) we recommend 2 scoops, or 1 scoop from an ordinary teaspoon (approx. 1.5g)
- Add 2 scoops of matcha powder to your tea bowl or cup.
- Pour around 70ml of not quite boiling water into the tea bowl.
- Whisk the matcha with the chasen for about 15 seconds until smooth and slightly foamy.
- Relax and enjoy!
We recommend placing the chasen in cold water for up to 3 minutes before use. Store in a cool dry place.
Make sure to dry it thoroughly with a chasen stand to avoid trapped moisture damaging the whisk with long term use. You can find our chasen stands here.
