Crafted by Keizangama, a traditional Arita kiln renowned for its finely hand painted porcelain, this sobachoko is a ceramic cup that features a hand-painted plover sea and water loving bird with a wave design, showcasing an elegant smooth water brushstroke. This landscape covers the entire exterior and the fine detailed yellow and green hues of colour add a splash of life to this compact and yet encompassing design.

Inspired by traditional seigaiha (blue ocean wave) motifs, this piece reflects the timeless elegance of Japanese ceramic design. Keizangama

Keizangama is a traditional Japanese pottery studio based in the historic village of Arita in Saga Prefecture, a region widely regarded as the birthplace of Japanese porcelain.

Today, Keizangama is one of only two of Arita's approximately 200 kilns to be led by a female CEO, while continuing the region's long tradition of exceptional craftsmanship and hand painted porcelain.
