Part 1) The journey begins with a short talk by the esteemed master ceramist, Koji Inoue, a guest all the way from Japan. With decades of experience and a deep connection to the tradition of Karatsu ware, Koji will share his journey and creative process.

Known for blending traditional techniques with personal innovation, his ceramics are not just objects of beauty, but functional art pieces crafted with thoughtful intention. He will delve into the significance of Karatsu ware, a renowned ceramic tradition from the Saga Prefecture in Japan, exploring its close relationship with the tea ceremony and its unique role in Japanese culture.

Part 2) Following the talk, Keiko Uchida, an experienced resident tea master, will demonstrate the art of the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. During the ceremony, guests will have the opportunity to taste high-quality, ceremonial-grade organic matcha. As the tea is served, guests are invited to engage in a Q&A session with Koji, gaining deeper insight into his work and the world of Karatsu ceramics.

The ceramics and matcha collection featured during the event will be available for purchase, giving guests the chance to take home a piece of this cultural experience.
