About the Tea Makers
Hoshino Seichaen (Yame, Fukuoka)
Renowned for their exceptional Gyokuro and Matcha, Hoshino Seichaen has cultivated high-grade teas in the misty mountains of Yame for nearly 80 years. With a deep respect for tradition, their family-run operation pours heart and precision into every step of their small-batch production.
Marukyu Koyamaen (Uji, Kyoto)
One of Japan’s most prestigious tea houses, Marukyu Koyamaen has been producing exquisite matcha since 1704. They expertly combine centuries-old techniques with modern methods to preserve the rich heritage of Japanese tea. Trusted by tea ceremony schools, temples, and luxury hotels, their matcha is a gold-standard in the world of fine tea.
Taste Shincha at Its Freshest
Shincha (新茶) means “new tea,” harvested in spring when the tea leaves are at their most vibrant, tender, and aromatic. It’s a once-a-year celebration of freshness — and perfect for enjoying hot or cold, especially in the warmer months.
Summer Brewing Tips: Iced Sencha at Home
Cool down with these refreshing ways to enjoy green tea:
Cold Brew:
Add loose sencha to a bottle of water at room temperature, then chill overnight. In the morning, enjoy smooth and mellow iced green tea.
Quick Iced Tea:
Brew loose sencha slightly stronger than usual (approx. 5g per cup) using 70°C water. Steep for 1 minute, then pour over ice for an instant, flavourful chill.
